News: Williams College Prize Giving '09
On the 3rd December at City Temple Lower Hall, Williams College celebrated student’s accomplishments with the College’s first official Prize Giving.
Peter Wild the Vice-Principal of the College opened the proceedings with a speech highlighting the growth and development of the College over the past few years, emphasising again how London is an important educational hub.
Then came the moment the students had been waiting for. Anna Lal, Director of Studies for the English and Business Communications School, began by presenting awards to students in her department. This was followed by Surya Vadali, Director of Studies of the Business and Information Technology School who presented the Lecturer Awards and Achievements Awards and Prizes for those students who had received distinctions in the official CTH, ABE, BABM and MBA examinations.
Two people were given special mention at the Prize Giving. This year it was Michael Lewis who received the “Student of the Year Award” and Matthew Noble who received “Lecturer of the Year”.
Michael Lewis was honoured for the tenacity and perseverance he has shown with his studies. He started with a University Foundation course, 6 years ago and is now busy with his MBA – an amazing achievement! Matthew Noble, is a well-loved and well-known lecturer, who has been lecturing at the college for the past 5 and half years. Because he lecturers a number of classes, most students have been lectured by him at some stage of their academic career at Williams. The College is very proud of the calibre of its lecturers and the many students who work hard to achieve their goals.
